Thanks guys, she took it to the only mechanic in town without the seat covers she normally has on and that's why he saw it. I'll tell her to tape it up and get the covers on, take it back and see whether they say anything. Otherwise she's just gonna re-register in Vic without the need for a roadwort...

WTB: Front Drivers seat for 74 Beetle (QLD)

After a drivers side front seat for a 74 Beetle. Current one too torn to pass roadworthy. Ideally it would be in QLD as its for my sister who's closest major town is Bundaberg.

Any northern alliance folks have anything, or any leads on good wreckers around Bundaberg? Thanks in advance!

2000 Passat 2.8L 6cyl, any good?

Hey all, my cousin is looking at an '00 Passat and asked me if I knew anything about them. I don't, so I was wondering if any lufters had experience with one? Any known problems with that model? The one he's looking at has about 130k on the clock, and is the 5spd manual.

Thanks in advance :)

The Mk2 has been at the mechanics for the last 3 days, it had a lot of work done and now it runs like a dream :D Had the timing belt done, new front muffler, new wasser pump and rocker cover gasket and a tune up. New muffler is a little quieter which is good. Having a bit of a love/hate relationship...

Raised the rear 15mm yesterday as it was sitting 15mm lower than the front when I measured it. Car now sits at 545mm Fender to Ground all round and think I've got the ride height spot on for daily driving now. Feel like handling has improved a little too by raising the rear.

Wasn't really planning on selling.
Unfortunately 3 years of parking in Sydney has taken its toll on the poor thing. Been knocked around in carparks a bit, and of course no one ever leaves a note.

Thanks for the reminder mate  Managed to do this on the weekend… let's just say it involved a bike, a roof rack and an underground carpark  Feel like a real dickhead, but came out pretty unscathed considering. Not unscathed enough though  https://farm9.staticflickr.com/8614/16696575...
