Over the June long weekend the club were lucky enough to spend 3 nights away in the beautiful Mallee town of Hopetoun.
Booking out the lakeside "Bush Retreat" for the weekend was great and 52 of us enjoyed a meal together at the local community owned Pub!
The other bonus is it proximity to the desert, with the sand dunes only about 10km out of town......
We had been working hard to get a few aircooleds up there, but with fuel issues on the Baja and brake issues on a Country Buggy, Jimmy's (freshly lifted) Fasty was the only aircooled to get out there and once he had the tyre pressures sorted it was unstoppable!
Micka's Amarok did suprisingly well too.........

We were also lucky enough to be invited to tour the new (private) Country Buggy museum whilst we were in the area............
He had 12 (from memory) a few of which were nicely restored, one of which the only ever to have come factory with a PTO.
One modified as a "driver" (BJ/IRS pan)
The ex-Steve's Dad's dark green prototype
A Thing which had belonged to the prime minister of Indonesia.
He had a really nicely equipped workshop too, with another resto underway......
Plus this Rad stereo, haha......
Was a bloody awesome weekend!
