So I have had a win.. Skoda has agreed to cover all costs for the engine and clutch replacement. Waiting on dealer to tell me when to bring it in.

Shouldn't have needed to have the fight I did, but at least they are now doing the right thing.

Its 8,000km old and about 9 months old. Their customer service people told me to send them a letter raising my concerns. One of them was the clutch is new, are you sure it needs another one and surely it comes with some kind of warranty when you fit it... After two weeks of waiting for a reply I am ...

Wow.. so over a year since I updated this post about this cool but flawed shitbox. Being fucked around royally by Skoda... despite raising oil consumption issues when she was in warranty, and them doing a patch job with the oil squirters, the reality is that the engine this model runs with a CAV eng...

Smallish update... I finally took my RS wagon in for a dealer visit, as it had used about 4L of oil over 4000km of driving. As a result oil consumption test commenced - there are fixes that include new piston oil squirters and breather mods, so I am sure that is in its future. Also got an updated en...

Thats a good looking machine with the blacked out grille and headlights.

I might have to acquire me some from the Monte Carlo edition Fabia and emulate the look!

Yes really comfortable and hold you well. Wouldn't want to be a really big bloke in them I don't think!

It's 2012 and first on the road in 2013. This model ran from about 2010 to 2014.

Early ones may have oil consumption issues unless it's had the warranty updates.

$17,300 - not cheap, not dear.

The hatches all seem to be around similar money for similar era and mileage, so I figured it was a reasonable deal given the wagon cost a few grand more when new.

Watercooled Daily - Skoda Fabia vRS Wagon

It feels like this purchase has been a long time coming. I finally got the shits with driving my 1991 Corolla AWD wagon 50kms a day in traffic and decided it was time for a new daily that was a bit more comfortable and had some mod cons. Problem was the budget didn't extend to the R36 that I truly c...

So still toying with the Caddy idea... missed out on the one that got the thinking going originally.. and as John indicated LWB 7 seaters are pretty rare. Should have bought the first one I looked at, but didn't realise that at the time! Still the minister for war and finance doesn't really like the...

I had the same thought.

Any one driven one that has been lowered?

Wondering how compromised the ride gets... I like the low look.. but I am getting old and don't necessarily like the crappy low ride :)

Good suggestion - I might try for both a discount and the headrests! If they were smart they would ring up the bloke who traded it in and ask him for them back. Need to convince the minister for war and finance that it is time to upgrade from the 1991 Corolla wagon too... that be a bigger challenge ...

Thanks! That is the one that has sparked the interest. Went and looked at it yesterday. Pretty clean really..middle seat had some weird wear/pull marks and it was missing most of the headrests from the rear seats. Also didn't have a parcel shelf cover either - but having looked at a few second hand ...

Resurrecting threads from the dead... With two kids now, the Golf wagon's space limitations are starting to show. The double pram takes up all of the space! Looking ahead I have been thinking we might as well ante up on the 7 seater front - so either grandparents can join us for a day trip, or kids'...

Benders Easter 2015

Stunning weather to visit Bendigo today for the Easter Extravaganza and as always some cool cars out and about. Well done Rhett and co.. I love coming up for your show. Madeleine enjoyed the farm yard animals in the park, so it was a win all round! A few favourites: https://lh6.googleusercontent.com...
