Anyone recommend a mechanic in the burg

Post by peppermintjones »

Just wondering if anyone here could recommend a mechanic pref. eastern subs to have a look at my Mk5 golf. I usually take it to Boris at Volkscare but he's away til the 18th. My engine lights flashing and its running like a bag of shit so its kind of urgent. Cheers

Coil pack
Let it idle and pull them one at a time till there's no change
You've found your dead one
They're about $40-$50
I put a full set of R8 one in Lils higher output and less prone to f#*king up!
After I replaced one and then 2 more failed in the next week.
Can anyone say built in obsolescence?

I find new stuff easier to work on than old shit

Might be due for plugs too Andrew

They usually go due to increased resistance somewhere (possibly fouled plugs) and therefor get too hot n pop

The Mk5s had a recll on their oil packs too ;)

Cheers Jase, I've got it booked in with Boris at the end of Jan to get a service and the thermostat checked out (going though a bit of coolant) I'll get him to chuck in a set of plugs then. It's running better than it has for quite awhile now though 8)
