Don't know a thing about American iron but that car and the Riviera next to it were the standout shiney cars of the day..
Best rat look was the F ord convertible...So cool.

this guy may be the reason why the track cruising gets canned for next year :(
Heard that the PI race track guys arent real happy with this and potential damage to the $4mil resurface so they are looking seriously at stopping the laps. That would be a fukin shame from the actions of one idjit.

Fair enough. That Harley wouldve come down hard.

Legitimate question. If there's no track cruising, would there be any other reason for having it at Philip Island? I'm sure there would be plenty of other venues cheaper to hire, and very willing to accomodate a few thousand people

exactly Lee. Its a great weekend event, but the track cruising makes it for me. Loose that and its just another static car show.
The Island is a great place to spend the weekend at anytime (bit baised I know) and the nights at San Remo are fun, but I reckon the numbers would drop off.

Yeah mate, having raced there a few times on bikes, it's a superb venue for anything with a motor, and Cowes is great also with like minded fools having a few laughs.
The marshall at the finish line was forever waving at people to slow down and then just gave up after a while.

If the speed limit or antics such as Mr Harley bloke can't be enforced, it's doomed to just that, another static car show. And really, it's a long way for a few people to travel just for that
Cruisin for just one lap in Andrews Ghia was my highlight, albeit over 200kph slower than I'm used to there, but it was fun nonetheless :D

If there's no laps, I wouldn't go.

Even though I'm even more biased than Dean (ie: my house is closer), the lack of shade, the heat from the concrete and the fact it's catered for by knobs and there is no alternative food or drink sources means it might as well be in the middle of the Mohave desert.......

If theres no laps, it would be better off being along the Cowes foreshore than at the track.....

Out of interest, I never saw anybody mark the surface....... And if the bike wasn't dropped, no damage was done.... The guys a goose for putting something cool into jeopardy, but if nothing happened, nothing happened....

It's like a brand new car or even a new pair of boots..... Sometimes you are better off scratching them when they are new, just so you can enjoy them for what they are without getting all anal about them.....

Come the first real event there and the track won't be as pristine as it is now.....

My 2 cents......

Fair call Brent.

I spose theyre just doing the 'Just incase' scenario IF he tossed it or other clowns dicked around and got hurt or property damage. Insurances etc etc
