Brad, they're Raceland Ultimo's. Nafe put some on his Mk3 and the ride isn't bad for the price, so decided to go for these over JOMs.

Yeah, ordered straight from Raceland. Just emailed them and organised it all that way. Really straightforward and only took 6 days to get here from the US. Was pretty surprised when the FedEx guy showed up this morning.

It's cheap as chips. I doubt you'd be able to walk into repco and get a pair of stock struts for much less than that.

Exactly! Freight as a percentage of total cost is high, but still a better deal than other options out there.

Did an order from ECS for bolts, spacers and strut mounts, but forgot tie rod ends. Haven't heard back from them yet on whether or not try can amend my order to include them or not, if not it'll just cost me another $40 in freight. Still not too bad though.

They can go much lower than it currently is and they haven't snapped in half. So I'm very happy.

Everything's arrived, just need to find time to do it all now. Couldn't help myself so I test fit the wheels with the final spacing tonight. Car isn't lowered at all in this pic, so has to come down a good few inches.

Visited Nafe today in the Gong and he hooked me up with a few tools to roll the guards. Thanks mate Back home now and took the trim off the front guards tonight. Had to pop some rivets to get one side off, but the other side was a mess, had a crack in it I hadn't noticed before and being held on by wood screws. Still, did the job. Trim was hiding a few nasty bits of rust/bubbled paint, so might have to treat and repaint some spots.

As of today, this is how it sits I've raised it another 3cm since the photos as I couldn't get it back in my driveway, and my oil pan was 7cm off the ground and I need to drive it for work tomorrow.

Took 2 solid days in the garage working on it. Probably the biggest job I've done on it, so pretty happy with how it turned out. Learnt a lot doing it. Replaced tie rod ends and did a pretty good wheel alignment myself. Car doesn't veer left or right. Will drive it for a day or two and sort of daily ride height before getting someone to do a proper alignment on it.

Also still need to cut the flares and put them back on, and maybe pull the guards a little more.

Literally just as I finished it and was taking it out for a drive around the block, a dude and his wife walked past. The guy just stopped right in front of my driveway as I drove down to the road, checking it out and then he hung around to watch me try and get out of the driveway.




At the height in the pics, the oil pan was 7cm off the ground, and the rear tyres were 3mm away from scrubbing without anything in the back. Have since raised it about 3cm all round.

Thanks guys. Pretty happy with it.
Drove alright today, only scraped once, like an unladen ute in the back but might ride a little better with a full tank of petrol as there's not much in there at the moment. Really notice just how crap the roads are around Sydney now, those concrete slab roads are the worst.
Think the CV joints are binding because there's a knocking sound coming from the front when turning the steering wheel at low speeds.

Will get the flares back on and reconsider final ride height once I get a sense of how it looks with them on.
