'Bout time I put this up. Bought it off Ol end of 2011. I hear it used to be Jase's too. Anyone else had a go before? When the windows fog up you can see the remains of 'VW Brisbane' stencilled on the rear window, so it sounds like its been all up and down the eastern states.

Haven't done much to it yet except maintain it.
- New tappet head gasket
- New disc rotors
- New tyres
- New belts all round after it shat itself visiting Nafe in the gong last year.
- New window seals
- Treated the rust in the battery tray… might need to do a better job, a bit flaky again.

Love driving it! Heaps of fun.

Coilovers and wheels are the plan for the future.

Here's how it looks at the moment

Probably just leave as is Brad, the paint job is pretty good, only a couple of knicks in it and I think the grey will go well with big bumpers on the weiss of the rest of the car.

Got a set of coilovers in mind, just need to work out tyres and spacing, but working on a limited budget, so progress is slow.

Probably won't be ready for the day in Canberra mate, but let us know next time you're in Sydney and we'll have to catch up.

Poor old girl

Still one of my favourite cars I've owned

Never once gave me grief, and she always lapped up the 1000k trip up to the coast like a champ 8)

 Will do the thermostat stuff this weekend, but need a better jack to do engine mounts. The BFI trans mount is a thing of beauty, pity its pretty much out of sight in the engine bay.

She goes great Jase 8) Needs something every now and then but still does the Albury to Sydney trip fine. Right at home at 110km/h.

Where do you source the parts from..?

Tonz, I got them from German Auto Parts in the US. It was only a 10lb box, prices were good, but freight was a killer! They only quoted me on freight after I put through the order. Might try schwarz Forest Industries or ECS Tuning next time.

Did you mean this Nafe? http://melburgluft.com/viewtopic.php?t=14017

Ah damn! Didn't know they don't ship to Australia. Seems at least some BFI stuff (their mounts at least) are available through German Auto Parts though.

I love Golf 2's, I've had 2 myself. A sud African import with a 1600 carbie- different than anything else we had here so a little hard to get some parts (easier when you are in the trade though ;-) ) and then I got a 16v GTI. To this day this was my favourite car of the numerous VW's I've had. Only sold it because I was travelling into the city all the time (paranoid about tailgaters ramming me) and was expecting my first child......
