Good score on the GTi kit, and those seats! Wouldn't mind some of that action. Undecided as to whether to spend any money on the car or save it for the aircooleds. So far the early stuff's winning.

Never knew that the golf has the outer door skins just bolted to the frame 8)

Makes repairs heaps easier

That is of course until you remember the fuckstick retard you bought the car from has had a go at repairing the drivers door

Then discover he's stripped and cross threaded nearly every single bolt on the thing and broken all the plastic clips

Image

Also he's broken the door mechanism probably while trying to remove it. But he's had a go at fixing it ........... With araldite

Fucken spastic! Supposed to be a mechanic too
Find out where the cu*t works make sure no one I know ever goes there!

So the drivers door took longer to strip and separate than the other 3 put together!

I bet it does! Fark!

Might be worth your while servicing the door locks while you've got the door skins off. The Mk5 ones are known to just stop working after a while, without warning. Both passenger ones on mine have gone. Need to get some new ones, get the skins off and replace. Hope it's not too much of an arse of a job.

By door locks do you mean the handle mechanism, or the electric lock?

The electric lock.

At the moment my passenger door never locks, no matter which buttons I press. And my rear passenger door is permanently locked.
