That's an old Thunderbird system that Pobjoy used (still uses?)
They are LOUD and they drag on everything if your low..

Yeah. your not wrong, I remember, I just need a cheap used (so I don't cry when I scrape it) 1.5" system whilst saving for sidewinder

I would still use my euro-tuck-away header but it wont clear any kind of full flow oiling system

I'm getting the vibe hot & strong that Vintage Speed are superior to the Sidewinders for low..

Also after a dog house venturi ring (see link)
http://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/ ... ?id=545355

I know its a long shot - as the venturi ring came on 1975 FI beetles from America

Thanks guys

Trying to keep things locally sourced, similar to the build so far.
After a sidewinder header with or without the muffler, raw, stainless whatever - header needs to suit heater exchangers/j-tubes - 1.5" .
I have found that most of the retails either don't stock this style header or are sold out.

System is similar to bellow:

Rod Penrose?

Apparently Rod has had some issues in dealing with Tiger @ a1.
This has lead to Rod no longer supplying a1 headers, much to my dismay.

I don't like to speak for Rod, however he did tell me the above himself, as I was waiting on confirmation for an order of the heater box/j-tube header, for some time. and I do understand that importing parts and detailing with a wholesaler takes time, especially from OS - hence my dismay.

It seems a lot more people/vendors sell the 'complete' system (i.e, AA, ACN.net etc) fewer people make/sell the heater box/j-tube header system like a1.

Full system (more common):
