Munchies

Post by OMR_007 »

Here in Vegas every friday night, all the meat head bogans get together and hangout in a big carpark. Never been before but was told to expect some big dollar builds.

Nugget, Leroy and I all squeezed into the Pea (yes very VERY tight) and went to check it out.

As expected, there were some fuckin cool rides there, a lot of old skool shit and amazing paint work.

Thought I might share some pics with ya .... albeit bad ones

Some cool rides there Dibba.

Having heard some of the paint budgets these guys outlay, you realise why they can get such awesome finishes. I was speaking to a guy helping complete a chev camaro the other day....owner is up close to $300K with close to $200K of that on custom mods (body) and panel/paint.

Would love someone to come along prepared to spend that on a splitty.....then I could get them mirror straight!! :)

200K :?:
That's why I like what guys here do.....

drag it out of a swamp, and even for the fairly big finish cars, can be done for the price of a Hyundai Getz......

And the ones that do go the whole 9 yards, well they are just even more betterer

Loved that Model A in the last couple of pictures.

Was actually talking to the guy who owns it down at Wintersun. From memory, the quickchange out back was made of wood, only the middle carby works, there was something weird with the manifold (wood as well maybe) and there was something else on it that was fake that i can't remember!

He certainly nailed the look though and done on a shoestring budget.

Might be talkin about the 69' camaro we did at work...if it is try 450 - 500 grand...it sounds crazy but it cost that much..considering the work that we put into it..like the only thing that's not kustom is the turret...

Haha....thats the one mate. I was getting the rough build cost details second hand so not surprised it wasn't 100% accurate.

Saw it in the flesh, love the wheels...shame kustom city went bust before the paint was cut and buffed. Will certainly get some attention when completed.

PS I think I need to start restoring muscle cars instead of dubs ;)

You're welcome to swing by any time mate. As you'd know the end product can only be as good as the hours put into it....the less hours (ie. $$), the more compromises one has to make with the finish.

If you are heading to the show on sunday at mudgeeraba I'll have a few cars on display inc Leroys panel.

That seems like a common problem with hot-rod shops that try to expand and get too big for the customer base in Australia.

Good luck with your recovery, i hope things are looking up for you.
