FONZ....eeeeeeyyyyy!!! 'ayy' wrote:Nice one Mark. Was hoping to see some of this. What won this year then?
this one i think
52 r/h/d originally delivered to nz ,choice bro
now owned by websters ?
this won master class
heard a whisper it was sold the other week
my old man owned this from 74-05
(in my best jeremy clarkson voice)
1st r/h/d coupe "in the world"
owned by norman hamilton
did a couple of the redex trials
heaps of hill climbs etc in the 50's
my old man bought it out of the trading post in about 1974,my old lady actually spotted the ad.
paid around $1800 of some dude in knox
sold it in 05,for an ok profit
in 1998 for the porsche 50th anniversary, the original driver and navigator from the redex trials were tracked down.well into there 70's they were reintroduced to the car ,which they had thought would have long been crushed.
there was actually tears in these guys eyes as they slipped back in time and rekindled old memories.
at first they were very cynical but after spotting the hole in the rear bulkhead for the internal luft cleaner, they had put in well over 40 years prior, they were convinced
sadly one passed soon after

Yep, there were a few. Mine is the one in bare metal on the trailer. Brave move to take it out on a day like Sunday. Covers went off when the sun came out for about 1.5hr then back on quickly before it poured rain

I was going to ask who's that was!
Are you going to start a build thread on it? I'd love to watch the progress

Nice one Raf. I wish more dubbers would bring their projects along to shows. I knows probably a big pita to get it loaded on a trailer and all, but its really good to see a work in progress.
Be more than happy to create a show and shine category for it at the Day of if there was interest.

Thanks Dean, yeah it is a hassle to get it off the rotessiere, loaded on the trailer and transport it but I thought it was good to see something different than the shiney cars you see all the time
Omr, I sure can start a thread, have heaps of pics. Where? Members Rides?
Cheers

same goes for magazines etc...
as a long time subscriber/buyer of all sorts of mags the one thing I wish there were more of is before n after or build pics not just the shiney bit at the end
