Sydney area weiss walls

Post by 62turtle »

got some new weiss stripes on the beetle. I think they look pretty good. Sam from www.redwalltyres.com.au did a great job and at $80 a set I reckon its a bargain.

they look sweet.

i'd love a set for my car but someone was telling me they actually cut into the tyre and fill it with a coloured insert so i wonder if there would be problems with insurance?

EDIT:
i just looked at the site, this is latex based paint so not what i was thinking of

yes the side wall of the tyre is scuffed/slightly grooved to allow the paint to stick

yes it could be an insurance issue, rwc issue etc etc...

but life is too short for that...

these days whitewall inserts and this painted on version are ball park similar in price/durability and life span... inserts probably more 'legal'

so depends on the look you prefer - or go the real deal on real weiss wall tyres if ya have slightly deeper pockets - easily the best look but does cost a bit more...
