Blank discs + drilling Melb based

Post by Roly »

Hey blokes , can anyone help me out with a Melburg based shop that can supply and drill blank brake discs ? , i don't want to pay stupid shipping prices from NSW + i would rather see money stay in Melb. I'm after Type 3 Disc's for the rear drilled to 130 pcd ..
Cheers, Roly.

Yeh, might just buy them from NSW.. not that I mind but I'd like to buy local. Either way , I've gotta get those deep 6's on ..

I've done some calling around, turns out, blank type 3 drums need to be machined down for a hub ,drilled for 130 pcd and then blank discs drilled for 130 and fitted over the hubs.. a bit of a process. Still cheaper than converting to 944 brakes.

Why do you want to go to discs?

I've already got discs 112 pcd on a swing axle, I want to fit Fuchs so I need 130. Would a beetle disc fit ? They're easy to get as blanks.

Measure the disc that's already on it and the bearings

Do you know who made the disc kit that's on it?

Yeh mate it was Mick from Custom bugs and buses, I spoke to him about it and he told me about the machining of a drum etc.. I should have asked if the bug disc fits, I wouldn't have thought so or everyone would have done it.

So it's a custom set up in the rear now?

Surely if its an off the shelf kit you'd be able to get the disc as spares in 5x130?
