Martin Street Show 2009

Post by Rawdyn »

With a Luft presence and the prospect of this show being Beetle focused next year I thought I'd throw up some pics of the Martin Street Show.

Big thanks to all of you (including Rossko the pseudo split) for making the effort on what was predicted to be pretty shite weather. Fortunaltely the rain held off the entire morning and only lasted for a bit when it did come.

It was a real blast getting the buses right up under the nose of people that would normally not bother to go to an organised VW show. Lots of really impressed locals.

This show will be all about Beetles next year so I'll keep one side of the street for Lufters and the other for VWClubVic members for a club shootout. :)

Big thanks to Michelle too. She is a bloddy trooper.

Some of my snaps...

Actually we had over 150 votes cast and 1st 2nd and third were separated by only one vote each.

Matt Brinsden took out the big honours pocketing the $250 with Doc a very close second with dinner for two ($100) and Luke with his Aqua weiss Suby powered panel third scoring breakfast for two ($40).

It was hilariously embarassing to have to push start the suby right down the middle of the street at the end of the show. Ironic the only non VW powered card wouldn't start (although I think it was just a flat battery as everyone had been watching TV in the back all day or something).

It was a great day though. Very relaxing and lots of fun to take it to the people. Looking forawrd to "Martin Street 2010 - The Beetles"

Yeah beauty Rossko, Both Michelle and I noted your enthusiasm at handing out the vote cards. I reckon if we had your Type 3 on there you would have given them a run for their money. 2011 for that mate :)

Thanks for your help Dude.
