Hey Lufters,
I'm just after a set of notched springplates to suit my '65 bug. If anyone has a set lying about, email, reply or shoot me a pm.
Cheers!

Thanks fellas, but the splines on my springplates are meshed together with the torsion bars, and I can't find any second hand locally.
I don't know how this could have happened, but I guess they could have come this way after being re-adjusted too many times? Or incorrectly?
So, I'm still on the lookout for some springplates Lufters!

Take em to a mechanic or engineering shop and get em pressed apart. They can be hard to budge.

I soaked mine with WD40 for a day and still had to hold the torsion in a vice and belt the springplate off with a sledge hammer they will come off, when you put them back together put some grease on the suckers

I got them out when I took it down one spline, what I'm trying to say is that the teeth are close to becoming stripped.
Excuse my lack of v-dub vocab Josh haha....
Thanks again.
